Metro’s like-for-like sales in Russia rise 1.3% in Q2 of 2020–2021
MOSCOW, May 5 (PRIME) -- German retail giant Metro AG registered a 1.3% increase in like-for-like Russian sales in the second quarter of the 2020–2021 financial year, which ended on March 31, the company said in a statement late on Wednesday.
Russian sales fell 16.4% on the year to 533 million euros in the period. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) fell to 32 million euros from 37 million euros in the previous year.
In the second half of the financial year, the company’s like-for-like sales in Russia rose 4.2%, revenue decreased 17% to 1.21 billion euros, and EBITDA dropped to 101 million euros from 124 million euros in the previous year.
